Support a local family this Christmas

Every Christmas, Community Networks provides food parcels to local families.  Over the last months, the team has been making changes to our systems to help us be more efficient, keeping the Foodbank stocked all year-round with staple items that families need on a daily basis.

Instead of a Christmas Foodbank drive, this year we’re teaming up with New World Three Parks and other local businesses to raise funds so we can keep offering a helping hand, this festive season and beyond. On average, for a family of four it costs:

·         $10 for toddler snacks for a week;

·         $20 for a meal or toiletries kit;

·         $50 for a Christmas dinner hamper;

·         $100 for a food parcel for a week.

To donate, visit our Givealittle page or head to New World Three Parks and pick a decoration from the Christmas tree.  If you’d like to support the campaign by displaying the poster in your local business or office, please get in touch.

And some end-of-year good news! Community Networks/LINK Upper Clutha are thrilled to be a finalist for the 2021 ignite Wānaka Awards outstanding not-for-profit category, alongside our peers at WAI Wānaka and WAO.

For many, the last year or two have been eventful.  As the region’s one-stop community support and connection centre, we have seen a steady increase in the need for food parcels, information, financial and mental health support.  The opportunities for proactive community development projects have multiplied, such as community transport and family support initiatives.  Our organisation has doubled in size in the past year, enhancing the breadth and depth of our community resource.

We’re looking forward to coming together at the gala dinner on April 30 2022 to celebrate our local businesses, community groups and initiatives.
