Five reasons to use the Community Shuttle Trial these school holidays

1.       Go shopping

The Community Shuttle stops near both New World supermarkets (for New World Wānaka, hop off at the Dungarvon Street stop; for New World Three Parks, there’s a stop right outside on Sir Tim Wallis Drive). If you take the second shuttle into town, you’ll have a couple of hours for your grocery shop and a wander around the CBD or a cup of coffee before the midday journey takes you home.

2.       Save money

Life might be feeling a little bit expensive right now – especially petrol - and school holiday activities for the whole family can quickly add up. The Community Shuttle Trial is $2 per person per ride – regardless of where you get on and off. If you’re traveling between Hāwea and Wānaka, that saves you plenty of money for ice cream!

3.       Get ice cream

As the weather warms up, why not walk or bike into the Wānaka CBD or around the lake to the Albie Takeaway for an ice cream - and hop on the shuttle home? The Shuttle has a bike rack on the back with space for two bikes, so just let us know if you need it when you book your seats.

4.       Catch up with school friends

Want to spend the day with your school friends in Wānaka, but mum or dad can’t drive you? Book onto the Community Shuttle on Mondays, Wednesday or Friday to meet your friends in town or by the lake, and save them the money and time.

5.       Keep the kids active and entertained

Plan your school holiday activities around the Community Shuttle timetable to make the most of your family’s time together. Whether you’re biking the Outlet Track, heading out to Hāwea for a change of scenery and some food, or coming into the Wānaka CBD to do some shopping and go to the movies, the Community Shuttle Trial can help you get there (and back). Take a look at the timetable to start planning now!
